Must be spring

Acting my age…
June 3, 2010
Wow, summer seems a long time ago. We’ll be flying kites again soon. Just to catch up, in February I had fun being in my second play. It feels like running away and joining the circus. It’s too much fun. We staged a production of Arsenic and Old Lace and I got to play one of the old ladies, Abby. In 2009 I was in my first play – we did The Dresser and I played Her Ladyship. We’re already talking about what play to do next. These are put on by The Performers’ Company here in Sackville.
Flying somewhat high…

Here’s my first kite finished – I had it up, and down, and up at the kite festival in Dieppe yesterday. We lacked for wind a bit but it was fun.

EcoArts Festival
August 1, 2009

I’m delighted to be participating in the upcoming EcoArts Festival held at the Cape Jourimain Nature Centre, New Brunswick every fall. Some time ago I bought three taffeta net curtains – I’m just starting to day-dream about what to do with them as an outdoor installation. I think I’ll cover them with crystals, shells and feathers and suspend them between the trees in a shady place carpeted with moss. I can’t wait to see them lilting in the breeze. Maybe I’ll create a little place to sit amongst them.
Now for something completely different…

Had a great time at the MonkeyTown Comix Jam last Monday night. I went with my son, Cameron, who is a writer and graphic artist. We met a bunch of interesting people who love comics, illustration and storytelling. Made me feel like doing some pen and ink drawing. They play a fun game – someone starts a story with one panel and then passes it to the next person to continue.

My first kite!
July 26, 2009

My hubby John is all about the kites these days and doing some great design and construction work. He’s attending the Dieppe Kite International Festival (cerf-volant.ca/) August 12-16 and I want to go too. But that means I need to make a kite. Here’s my idea – I’ll post an image once it’s done. Should be fun. Let me know what you’re doing for creative fun today!
